Now the parent bestows some of its shelter, its paddings and margins. But not its height! After all, floated children are rebellious creatures, they just up and take themselves out of the normal flow of things. Naturally, as you can imagine, there are consequences to this. There is parental retaliation. But they are still children and no parent wants to go too far. A withdrawal of height seems an appropriate response.
